Basic Marine Electronic Installation
Presented by NMEA, National Marine Electronics Association
A full-day workshop in marine electronics installation, based on the NMEA Installation Standards, that will clarify and define competent installation practices. Topics include, but are not limited to, electronic-equipment installation, grounding systems, antenna placements, and data communications. Provides learning in the basic principles of marine-electronic safety and performance issues in the following: AC wiring, antennas, autopilot, batteries, charging systems, coaxial cables, corrosion protection, DC wiring, electronic displays, electromagnetic interference, fluxgate compass, grounding, magnetic compass interference, NMEA 0183 interfacing, NMEA 2000 interfacing, power inverters, radar, and transducers.
